Rootstock Growth is a business name of Byrd LLC, a South Dakota limited liability company (“Rootstock,” “we”). This policy explains what we collect when you ask for a Root Cause Review or buy one, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- What you give us: your name, email, phone number, business name, website, city and state, type of business and the services you list. If you pay, Stripe collects your payment details. We never see or store your card number.
- Public information about your business: your Google Business Profile, where you appear on Google Search and Maps, your reviews, your website, and what AI assistants say when asked about businesses like yours. We gather the same public information about your top competitors so we can compare.
- Records of your consent and activity: the wording you agreed to and when, a one-way scrambled form of your IP address, your browser type, and when your private report link is opened.
- Website analytics: the review request page and these policy pages use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how visitors find and use them: pages viewed, how you arrived, device and browser, an approximate location based on your IP address, and whether a review request was sent. It sets cookies to tell visits apart. It never receives what you type into the form, and your confirmation and report pages do not load it. You can block these cookies in your browser or use Google's opt-out add-on.
How we use it
- To prepare your review, send it to you, and answer your questions about it.
- To contact you about your review by email or phone.
- To run follow-up reviews you ask for or that come with a paid review.
- To build combined statistics about local businesses (for example, the share of roofers missing from AI answers in a city). These never name you or your business.
- To send occasional tips by email, only if you checked that box. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent abuse of the free review (for example, limits per email and per business).
We do not sell your personal information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who helps us
We use a small number of service providers that handle data only to provide their service to us: DataForSEO (search, Maps and AI-answer data), OpenRouter and the AI model it routes to (reading public web text and reviews), Amazon Web Services (sending email), DigitalOcean (hosting and file storage), Cloudflare (website delivery and security), Stripe (payments), and Google (website analytics). We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
Your private report link works for one year. We keep your request, report and the data behind it for up to three years after your last contact with us, so we can run follow-up reviews and keep our statistics accurate, and then delete it. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
Your choices
- Email [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We will answer within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe from tips at any time with the link in any tips email, or by replying to it.
- Deleting your information also ends access to your report. Statistics already combined without your name stay combined.
Security
Report links are long random codes that are hard to guess, and reports are not listed in search engines. Data is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Anyone you forward your link to can open your report, so share it with care.
Children
The Root Cause Review is for business owners and their staff. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will email people with an open review.
